Hi everyone! It’s been SO long since I last shared a blog post, but I have been enjoying reading & writing a lot more lately so I thought it would be a great time to get back on here. I have been doing some online shopping for fall (literally the tabs right by this one are full of different options I’m searching for), and I wanted to share with you all what I think are the top trends for this chilly season and overall what I’m searching for. Of course, I’m only shopping after making sure to give away & sell plenty of my older wardrobe pieces that I’ve grown out of— a reminder to do that too before making any additions to your closet! :)
Sleeveless Sweaters & Vests
One common trend I’ve seen throughout many blogs & stores is the oversized grandma vest. I think with the pandemic, everyone is all about comfort and looking as effortless as possible. I absolutely love a vest look, and I think it’s a great way to turn a fitted outfit into a more modest aesthetic.
2. Tall Platform Boots
As I mentioned earlier, it’s all about comfort, which means opting for flat footwear instead of heels. I love the tall platform boot trend with a tucked in trouser & trench coat. This could be in the form of a combat boot, rain boot, or any boot with a thick sole and flat heel.
3. Statement Knitwear
The cardigan from the early 2000s is back, but this time with a more statement twist, such as in the buttons, the collar, the sleeves or even the pattern.
4. Comfortable Denim
I feel like skinny jeans are SORT of coming back, but the main trend is relaxed denim. That can be a potato sack fit, a flare fit, or even super wide fit.
5. Trench Coat
This one is always a classic, and I feel like it makes such a good layering piece, whether you’re wearing sweatpants or a full on fancy outfit. It’s something I’m definitely on the look out for.
6. Fancy White Shirts
We’re allll about that oversized poplin collar & frilly sleeves this season. They make the perfect layering pieces, and can totally revive an old blazer or sweatshirt.
7. Chunky Loafers
I’ve always been a fan of a classic loafer, and I’m glad this trend is here to stay. It’s the perfect go-to when you don’t know what type of shoe to match with your outfit. It’s comfortable, low heel and still fancy.
Much love,
