Meet Summer Albarcha, Modest Fashion Blogger, Style Expert & Digital Entrepreneur

Summer Albarcha has been a champion for diversity in the fashion industry since her teens when she noticed it was uncommon to find billboards, magazines, and runways that featured women like her. Under the pen name “Hipster Hijabis” at the time, her fashion career took off with a powerful speech on “Modest Fashion in Modern Times” at Fashion Forward Dubai in 2014, where she shed awareness on the gap between mainstream and modest fashion. Today, she boasts an Instagram with +500k followers, pulling in co-branded deals with notables such as Fendi, Nike, La Prairie, & more. Her unique personal style has been featured in TeenVogue.com, Marie Claire, and Vogue Arabia, and has taken her internationally for fashion weeks from Milan to Jakarta to Istanbul.

Though her styling shots are eye catching, she’s expanding the “art + commerce” equation by including “philanthropy” in the mix, whether it be fundraising for water wells in rural Gambia or advocating for Syrian refugees in Turkey. By forging her own path in the industry, Summer has carved out a devoted niche in inspiring women to be proud of their freedom in how they choose to dress theirselves. She is here to prove that not only can terms like “modest” and “modern” co-exist, they make for truly exciting fashion moments.

Summer graduated from The John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University in Business Management with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies in 2018. She currently resides in Pittsburgh with her husband, where he is completing his medical training, and is frequently based between NYC and Saint Louis. She is a champion for digital marketing education and supports creator knowledge sharing as co-chair of the American Influencer Council Learning & Development Committee. In January 2022, she plans to transform the formal wear industry in the United States by integrating a range of luxurious and contemporary modest options with her new evening wear label, Summer Evenings.
